The protected sanctuary is known for its stunning coral reefs and marine life, and Capt. Hook’s is the Big Pine Key operation built around getting you into that water properly — whether it’s your first time breathing underwater or your fiftieth dive trip.

New divers can earn their scuba certifications here under expert instruction, learning in the same waters they’ll go on to explore. Certified divers can join guided reef dives led by people who know the sanctuary’s structure and inhabitants, and snorkelers get their own trips into the same protected shallows — no certification required. Because it’s a full-service center, the land side is covered too: gear sales if you’re building your own kit, rentals if you’re traveling light, and service if your equipment needs attention.
